Each winter the Green and Blue Space organises a winter clear out so that any students leaving accommodation can donate unwanted items, instead of them going in the bin. Your donations are repurposed for incoming students at a fraction of the cost, saving your fellow students money and with the money raised through the Green and Blue Space going back in to supporting environmental projects on campus. That’s a pretty good win-win-win!
What can I donate?
We urgently need any:
- Kitchenware (pots, pans, plates, utensils)
- Academic textbooks and novels
- Homeware (laundry bags, cushions, blankets)
- Electrical items
How do I donate?
Please use the green bags in your kitchen to put any donations in. Extra bags can be collected from reception areas or accommodation staff. You can then drop off your donation bag at the reception donation point and we’ll come and collect them for you! Alternatively, you are also welcome to drop them outside the Green and Blue Space too.
Bags were dropped off at student flats from 29th November and donation points are at Beech, JFC, Ally Court, Lower Bridge Street and Green and Blue Space.
Any questions? Just drop by the Green and Blue Space or email Matt (Environmental Development Coordinator) on email@example.com
Thank you in advance for your support and for making your items go beyond the bin.
Have a great Christmas and best wishes for the New Year!
From the Green and Blue Space Team
