Stirling secures UK’s first SOS International Summit
Just in time for Scotland’s Climate Week, we’re delighted to announce that the University of Stirling Students' Union will host the Students Organising for Sustainability (SOS) International Summit on 27-28 May 2027, becoming the first university in the UK to host this global summit.
Hosted through the Students' Union’s Green Office, the Green & Blue Space, the summit marks an exciting milestone for Stirling and reflects the University’s commitment to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, one of the University’s strongest-performing goals. The summit will also form part of an exciting year for Stirling, as the University celebrates its 60th anniversary.
SOS-International is a formal education partner of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Together, they work to understand the attitudes and opinions of young people towards sustainability, while collaborating on joint advocacy programmes across university campuses around the world. The SOS International Summit is a unique opportunity for young people from across the globe to come together to inspire, share ideas and connect, and to strengthen the role of higher education in driving sustainable development.
The call for contributions will be launched in October 2026, with delegate tickets going on sale later this year, stay tuned!
We’re incredibly excited to welcome students and young people from around the world to Stirling in May 2027.
