Elections

The Students' Union runs elections in the Spring and Autumn every year. We elect Full-Time Officers and some part time roles in Spring, and in Autumn we elect other part time roles. This is your chance to elect people to represent you, lead your Students' Union, and make the change you want to see.

Students' Union Autumn Elections 2026

Every year, you elect over 20 Student Representatives to represent all students at Stirling. In the Autumn Elections 2026, you’ll elect part-time Campaign Officers and Postgraduate Officers for the 2026/27 academic year. These roles are crucial in shaping the student experience and ensuring your voice is heard at every level.

  • 4 posts are up for election.
  • Nominations close at 12:00 on Tuesday 13 October 2026 (in 4 weeks and 5 days)
  • The polls open at 09:00 on Tuesday 20 October 2026 (in 5 weeks and 4 days)

  • By voting, you can influence who represents you across Stirling University, clubs, societies, and the whole Students' Union. 
  • Sabbatical Officers play a crucial role in voicing your opinions and concerns at the top across Stirling Uni.
  • By voting, you’re actively participating in the democratic process and choosing the candidates who best align with your needs. 

Every Vote Counts.

Elections can be extremely close, with some positions determined by only a few votes. Your vote matters and could be the deciding factor in who wins.

Don't rely on others to vote for the right person. Your vote truly makes a difference!

How to vote.

Each candidate has a manifesto, which outlines their goals and plans if elected. Find out which issues are important to you and then cast your vote on who you want to represent you in various roles.

We use a system of voting called STV & ATV, which stands for Single Transferable Vote.

This means you order candidates by preference, from the one you'd most like to win to the one you'd least like, and if your preferred candidate gets knocked out (by having the least overall votes), we'll transfer your vote to your next preference.

No member shall have more than one vote per position.
