The University of Stirling Polo Club
The Polo Club aims to be as inclusive as possible, meaning we welcome you no matter what your background is. We also encourage participation on all levels, whether you wish to only be a social member or compete at the highest level. No riding experience is necessary to join the club and horses are provided.
Training:
1-hour lessons on weekday evenings.
Transport from campus is provided, and the journey lasts around 40 minutes each way.
Thanks to the Vice Chancellors Fund, we have been able to introduce more training opportunities using hand mallets.
Competing:
We compete in several competitions each year across the UK, including; the Scottish Student Sport League (SSS), UK Winter and Summer Nationals in the south of England, the Edinburgh Annual Tournament and the St Andrews Charity Tournament.
There are also some amazing opportunities to play with the club in places like Argentina, Mongolia and Prague, as well as other incredible destinations around the world!
There is a player's Party at each tournament which is great fun, especially when the club goes as a theme.
We also host our own area tournamnet each year in November called SWAT which consists of two days of play and a ball in the evening.
Socials:
We hold regular socials alternating between nights out and quiet socials including movie nights, dinners, coffee meets and much more.
Christmas and End-of-Year dinners are highlights of the social calendar.
