Stirling University Dance Club: SUDC
Do you like to dance?
Are you looking to try something new?
Are you looking for a fun way to keep active and make new friends?
well you're in the right place!
Why you should join our SUDC family:
Stirling University Dance Club is a student run dance family meaning that all of our classes are delivered and taught by members of the university. We try our best to create a fun and friendly atmosphere whilst showing our love for dance.
SUDC delivers classes in a range of styles including hip hop, ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, commercial, contemporary, Musical theatre, beginners technique and strength and conditioning. We cater to all ability levels and encourage our members to try new styles! Don't worry if you have never danced before, our members will make sure you feel comfortable. Joining beginners classes is a great way of learning something new.
Competitions:
All members of the team are encouraged to audition for our competition team, who will compete at least three times a year at various competitions across the UK. Our competition auditions usually take place in October (these are completely optional, you do not have to be a part of the competition team to be part of the club). Competition season typically takes place during the months of February and March.
Our competition teams have won numerous awards in both advanced and intermediate categories over all genres over the years and we are also extremely proud to announce that we have won the best team spirit award at the Silvercity competition 2 years in a row.
Annual show:
Each year we host a whole club show!
This is where we showcase all the talent and hard work of each and every one of our amazing members. Our second semester of the year helps us work towards and prepare for the show. The show is a lot of fun and it is so rewarding to finally show all of your hard work on the stage. Each member will be offered the opportunity to dance in the show at no extra cost! they will also be provided with a video and pictures which will be taken at the performance free of charge too.
We are delighted to announce that our 2024 show - Time to Dance will be held in the Macrobert Arts Centre on the 20th April 2024 at 7:30 pm
tickets for this show will be on sale from monday 4th March.
Additionally:
We also have some exciting news to share, SUDC are going to be hosting our very first competition in early 2025! this is a massive opportunity for the entire club as we will have lots of opportunities for all of our members to get involved and help run the event on the day.
