Canvas to replace Succeed

Yesterday the University announced the appointment of a new learning management system system, Canvas, to replace Succeed - the Virtual Learning Environment. The desires of students have been represented at all stages in this process, from providing feedback on their current experiences to inform development of our statement of requirements, to testing our potential products and evaluating suppliers.

Having been involved in the work of the evaluation group, I'm confident that the new system Canvas will deliver an attractive, responsive and easy to use system to students, regardless of the device they access the system from - meeting some of students' key asks. The new system will be implemented in time for students returning in Autumn 2017, until then work will continue to ensure staff and students are appropriately trained to make the most of the new system, helping transform learning and teaching at Stirling.

If you have any further questions about Canvas, drop me an email at education.union@stir.ac.uk
