The National Union of Students (NUS) is a voluntary membership organisation which makes a difference to the lives of students and its member students' unions.

They are a confederation of 600 students' unions, amounting to more than 95 percent of all higher and further education unions in the UK. Through their member students' unions, they represent the interests of more than seven million students.

They fight discrimination, isolation and injustice. Through practical information and national action, they make sure students can thrive.

They support and strengthen students and their unions. They are informed – developing research that influences national policy.

They are active – taking on all the issues that affect students’ lives now and in future.They know students, representing 7 million student voices.

Every year, they bring together a conference of student representatives to decide which campaigns and policy work NUS should take forward. The conference also elects student members to lead this work for the coming year.
