Stirling is in Tier 4 restrictions from 6pm on Friday 20th November. Read below for information on the new measures and what support you can access.
What is Tier 4?
The Scottish Government are using a tiered system across Scotland to limit the spread of Coronavirus. This means that in different council areas, there are different restrictions depending on the severity of levels of infection rates.
Stirling was Tier 3 and has been moved up to 4 due to further outbreaks and a need to limit the spread. This graphic below shows you what 4 looks like across different areas such as hospitality, socialising and travel. Changes on Campus
The University has communicated updated information regarding campus services, learning and teaching, travel and more which you can read on the portal here.
Our Union Shop in the Atrium will be closing at 5pm on Friday 20th November, and re-opening on Friday 11th December. Our online shop will still be running, you can order items online here. Karen, our Shop Manager, is available via email at firstname.lastname@example.org for any queries. If there's an item from our Atrium Shop that you can't see online, you can get in touch with her about ordering directly.
Our catering outlets will remain closed and we will update on our website and social media when these can re-open in the future. The University currently provides a range of on-campus catering for students, info here.
Your Union Officers & staff will be working from home, as so many of us have been since March. We're still able to provide our services and be there for all students. You can find out more about what we've been doing for students here.
We want you to know the restrictions and stick with them. We're all doing our bit and it's important not to make your own rules, not to attend parties outwith your own household and look after each other by wearing a face covering, washing your hands and socially distancing.
The University have released further information about campus services and mask-wearing in certain areas, you can find this here: www.stir.ac.uk/coronavirus
Here's a reminder of some of the support that all students can access:
Pandemic Pals - our buddy system where we match you up with another student for support. We've matched over 150 Pandemic Pals so far, who span year groups, locations, ages and most faculties with a common goal of meeting someone to talk to and connect with virtually during these uncertain times.
Union Advocacy & Support - Lynn, our Advocacy & Inclusion Coordinator, provides a professional service to any and all students who need it. The stress and uncertainty of these times can effect you in different ways, including academically, so as well as information and signposting we offer specialist support and representation for academic appeals, disciplinary proceedings, academic misconduct, fitness to practice and complaints.
University Support Services - including 24/7 online support, counselling and wellbeing.
Nightline - a student-led and operated confidential service available to students via instant messaging.

A message from your Union President, Amy.
Look after yourselves, look after each other, and know we're here for you at Your Union!
I know this will be tough, especially so close to exams and to Christmas! And it's ok to feel annoyed, stressed, fed up, upset, or all of the above, about it. It's a lot to take in and will effect us all differently.
A University announcement will be hitting your inboxes soon with updates about services on campus during the next three weeks, so if you have any questions when that comes out you can always drop me or one of the other Union Officers a message!
