The first General Meeting of the semester took place on Thursday 3rd October in a packed A3 Lecture Theatre. A number of motions were discussed - you can read them in detail here.

Motions passed included a commitment to electing National Union of Students (NUS) delegates via cross campus ballot and also declaring a climate emergency. This gives the elected Officers a platform to carry out work and campaigns in pursuit of ensuring a more sustainable future.

There was healthy discussion on debate on other motions including on car parking and the election of Student Trustees. There two motions didn't pass but aspects of parking, in particular given the work going on for Campus Central, continue to be an area the Officer team are working on with the University.

The next Zone meeting is the Education Zone on Thursday 17th October at 5pm in LTA3.
