Following your overwhelming feedback to the Union’s cycling survey last semester – we have some exciting news! Based on the feedback you provided, a successful bid for £23k was awarded by Cycling Scotland that will see over 130 new sheltered buke spaces made available on campus. Added to a £50k investment work from the University in order to deliver this, it's a great result taken forward following student feedback.
In addition, the survey highlighted the desire for some cycling related discounts which the Union has now been able to secure with a number of partners. You can find out more about the specifics of the discounts here.
You can read the full Survey Report here.
Last semester, our Environmental Development Co-Ordinator attended the launch of Sustran's Bike Life Stirling report. This report was compiled based on 1,000 Stirling resident responses and is well worth a read, it has some great stats on local societal impacts regarding people cycling (e.g. as a community Stirling saves £0.50 for every mile cycled). You can read it here.
Thanks to everyone for the valuable feedback - it's vital that we get student input into developments and all work together to #makestudentslivesbetter
