It's Charities Week!

Monday 10th November – Stirling does The Apprentice! Our very own Business Club will be overseeing the challenge, and anyone is welcome to enter a team – providing that they suit up for the occasion! Each team pays £5 to take part, and in return will be given a bundle of materials to try and up-mark and sell to raise a profit! The task runs between 9am and 3pm, and the team with the most profit (all going to Shelter) win prizes and the losers… well, you know the script. To find out more and sign up, contact Vp Communities, communities.union@stir.ac.uk
Tuesday 11th November – Get down to the atrium to see how our societies support charities! Come down any time between 10-5pm and try your hand at nerf-darts with the Assassins’ Guild, keepie-uppy competition for the Stirling City All Stars, beat-the-goalie for Africa on the Ball and everything else! Also a chance to meet some of our friends from charities such as MacMillan and Save the Children who are keen to start something up here on campus. We’ve also got Dodgeboob making a welcome return to the Gannochy for the Coppafeel cause and it’s a chance to find out more about what some of our other key charitable societies do too!

Wednesday 12th November – Our fantastic Sports Team members will be doing their bit for Charity in a bid to raise money for Connor's Journey. Leg waxing and Pie Throwing is on the cards, so join them in the atrium and watch them “Take one for the Team”! Later on in Studio at 6pm, Lauren Marriott and Chris Priddle will be hosting Blind Date, with prizes to be won for the winning couples! If you would like to get involved in any of these activities, please email communities.union@stir.ac.uk. This will be followed by the Sports Union Quiz in Studio where all proceeds raised will go towards helping Connor Hughes, a member of Stirling Uni rugby team recently sustained a life changing injury on the rugby field. Damage to his C5-C6 vertebrate has left him Quadriplegic with no sensation from the shoulders down.
Thursday 13th November – The Union are getting right behind the University’s Staff Charity Fund to promote their Pub Quiz. Enter a team from your halls, society or wherever and help raise money for two important local charities, Start Up Stirling and PLUS, whilst testing your knowledge! Birds & The Bees at 7.30pm, contact Jackie O'Neil (j.l.oneil@stir.ac.uk) to register your team

Friday 14th November - This is the day of Children in Need and in a bid to get you to donate what you can, you sabbaticals will be suffering for your entertainment! Vote for which sabb you wish to see face a gruesome challenge and enjoy watching them face it head on in the atrium all day! Challenges include yucky smoothies and baked bean antics.
