Cycling trip to the Great Cumbrae Island (Millport)

Saturday 01 April 2017 8:45am - 5:30pm

Great Cumbrae Island

Join us for an excursion to the beautiful and scenic Millport on the Isle of Cumbrae on Saturday 1st of April. We well make our way to the seaside south-west from Glasgow (Largs) with a coach leaving in front of Macroberts at 9am sharp, so be there at 8.45am.

From Largs, a ferry and a local bus will take us to the Cumbrae isle and to Millport, where we will rent bicycles to go around the isle (11miles/17.7km) and take in the stunning Scottish seaside (people of all abilities are welcome). There is no obligation to rent a bike, if you wish, you can also just walk on the beautiful carless island and enjoy the Atlantic views. Before returning to Stirling, there will be some time in Largs to enjoy some world famous fish and chips and Nardini's delicious ice-cream. We are aiming to be back on campus around 5:30pm.
As Scotland never stops surprising us with its weather, take care to dress weather appropriately and we recommend to bring some small snacks as it is a long day of activities.
Also, please be aware and bring cash for the following ‘on the day’ costs detailed below:
On the day costs (APPROXIMATE):
Ferry £3.20 return
