Global Justice Stirling

We are a group of students who come together to fight for social, economic and environmental justice. We challenge systems of oppression on a global and local scale, and aim centre the voices of those most affected in everything we do.

We are a non - hierarchichal society, everyone has an equal say in the direction of the group and we aim to make decisions by consensus. 

There will be no environmental justice without social justice!!!

What have we done in the past:

• Arranged fundraisers for causes such as: Collective Aid, Transition Stirling, Start up Stirling, Free Breakfasts at Uni, Support for Palestinian Student, and more!
• Successfully engaged in a 4 year campaign to get the universtiy to improve its ethical investment policy
• Successfully campaigned for the Uni career service to adopt an ethical careers policy (this is an ongoing campaign as the policy still needs to be stronger )
• Got the SU to endorse the fossil fuel non proliferation treaty
• Organised several protests in Stirling and surrounding areas to challange institutions of oppression

Ongoing campaigns:

• Running free breakfasts at the Chaplaincy every monday
• Campaigning for Stirling Council to endorse the fossil fuel non proliferation treaty 
• Working to strengthen the ethical career policy that was adopted last year
• Monitoring the implimentation of the stronger ethical investment policy and working to include divestment from companies profiting from the border industry
