Mature Students Society

Who we are

Welcome to the University of Stirling Mature Students Society, a community to support mature students who are starting, continuing, or returning to higher education.

We aim to provide a friendly, practical space where members can share advice, ask questions, and feel welcome in what can be a daunting time. Whether you’re balancing study with work and family life or finding your feet after time away from education. We will address issues that matter to mature students, promote wellbeing and peer support and create opportunities for networking and connection, no matter your confidence level.

We’re big on community university wide too. Key to our goal is to encourage integration and collaboration with others, helping mature students feel fully involved in campus life.

Because we’re a brand-new society, joining now means you’re not just signing up, you’re helping shape the direction and future of the society! Your involvement at this early stage will directly influence our focus, priorities, and the types of activities we arrange.

Over the coming year, we’ll be organising social events, study groups, and laid-back meetings, alongside outings and family friendly day trips designed to build friendships, support, all designed to make university life more enjoyable. Whether you’re looking for study motivation, a chat with people who understand the unique challenges of navigating higher education as a mature student or simply a reason to get out and feel part of something.

We want you to feel right at home!
