MUN (Model United Nations)

Who we are

Welcome to Stirling University Model United Nations Society! MUN is an educational simulation in which delegates can learn about diplomacy, International relations and United Nations. MUN will give you the opportunity to discuss global affairs and hypothetical scenarios.

During sessions, you, as a delegate will represent a country in one of the many United Nations Committees and work with other delegates to negotiate and address a specific topic or global concern. Topics will range from disarmament and proliferation, AI, Space law, environment, health, human rights, technology and ethics etc. Delving into these topics each week will allow you to gain greater understanding of the issues and challenges we currently face.

MUN will allow you to the opportunity to practice drafting resolutions, creating amendements to postition paper,s public speaking, and negotiations. At SUMUN we train the members to develop skills of leadership, debating, communication, teamwork, writing, negotiation, networking, research and critical thinking.

No prior MUN experience is required! The experienced SUMUN committee will provide you with the necessary guidance through the whole process. So if you want to become one of the future leaders in politics, in business or any other industry, or if you want just to develop your soft skills, join us! We look forward to seeing you at our debates!

If you have any questions, please feel free to get in contact with us!

We are currently in the process of setting the society back up, and hope to have sessions running, January 2026.
