Hello all!
We are SO EXCITED to announce that the chess club will be having its Give-it-a-Go this Thursday (23/9), both online AND in person! This time we'll be holding a special event; a knockout tournament with cool prizes to be won!
THE TOURNAMENT
Games will be timed at 15 minutes per side with 10 second increments. Each round of matchups will be randomly generated using the names of players. The winner of each game will progress to the next round. Whoever wins in the finals will be crowned champion and win 1st place prize! Prizes will also be awarded to the 2nd and 3rd place winners. Participation is not mandatory. We'd be delighted if everyone who came to the event gave it their shot, but we understand that not everyone is competitive or feels comfortable being timed. If you would rather sit the tournament out, there will be ample opportunity for casual play!
WHEN AND WHERE?
This Thursday (23/9), 6:30pm onwards. You can attend in person (providing you have not recently experienced symptoms of, or have tested positive for, COVID-19), OR you can attend online. The tournament will begin at 7pm; try to arrive by 6:45pm at the latest!

Room C.2A13. If you don't know where that is, worry not! Our fantastic treasurer, Finlay, will be waiting in the Atrium (6:30 - 6:45pm) ready to pick you up. Remember to wear your masks!
