Taking health & Wellbeing to the next level!

As one of Stirling University's student NUS Delegate's I would tackle the increasing importance of adequate funding for student wellbeing on a national level.

This needs to be recognised as an aspect of student life that is currently grossly underfunded. In particular mental health. Whilst the University has done its best with the resources and capital available to it, it simply cannot cope with the current urgent demand for student services. I have both personal experience and the testament of fellow students as well as staff valiantly attempting to firefight in this important health area. As an NUS delegate I wish to I wish to take my  concerns to the national forum to ensure there is national recgontion understanding of the pressures facing students in the modern world. From spiralling living costs such as rent and food, to students having to hold down multiple jobs in order to afford to attend university. The detrimental impact on student’s mental and physical health which can hinder their academic progression and eventual achievement.
