As we enter the season for assignments and exams, we want to support our students with their stress and anxiety during this time of year. That's why from the 7th to the 11th of November, we're holding our Stress Awareness Week, which (outside of the regular support available) will have events and activities throughout the week to help students destress on top of our usual offering of support services and resources.
Events & Activities
Tuesday, November 8, 12pm - 4pm in the Atrium
Located alongside the Positive Pebbles, the Crafternoon is another chance for students to get involved in de-stressing through creativity. If your society is interested in running an activity as part of this, feel free to email Jess Reid, Vice President Communities.
Tuesday, November 8, 1:30pm - 2:30pm, Acorn Room in the Loch View (2A1 Cottrell Building)
Led by one of our counsellors, the Reducing Stress event is all about giving tips and tools for how you can manage and reduce your stress. We will also provide information for where you can access support on campus all year round.
Reading to Relax
Tuesday, November 8, 6:30pm - 8pm, Underground
The Students' Union will be leading a session on how reading supports our mental wellbeing and offers an opportunity to escape our everyday worries. Book swap, mystery book giveaways, and a cozy evening to get back into reading.
Garden & Wellbeing Session
Wednesday, November 9, 2pm - 4pm, Community Garden
Session lasts until 4pm before we return to the Students' Union for tea and coffee until 5pm.
A chance for you to get involved with people and the community in our Community Garden. You don’t have to stay for the full two hours, and it’s a great chance to get involved in the light activity to improve your well-being.
We’ll also be offering tea and coffee afterwards for anyone who’d like it. If you enjoy it, you can continue to come to our garden sessions every Wednesday & Friday!
Meet us in the Atrium at 2pm before we’ll make our way up to the garden.
Looking After Yourself

As part of the expanded Clubs Academy programme, we've organised a session for committees on how you can take care of your wellbeing as committees. Well be providing useful strategies and tips for how to manage stress throughout the year.
From 3pm - 4pm, we're holding the Committees' Cafe - a supportive space for networking and chatting about the challenges with running societies. Sign up here to get involved.
Dance & De-Stress

Free event run in collaboration with Latin Dance Society. The Students' Union will have a Latin dance beginner session open for anyone to join and dance their stress away.
