Welcome to (and back to!) Your Students' Union for Freshers 2022! First off, everything we do is for all Stirling students - whether you are a new Undergraduate, a new Postgraduate or a returning student - Freshers Week is for all Stirling students.

Make sure you join the Official Stirling Freshers Facebook group to get official information, meet your new coursemates & find out about everything Stirling.

What's happening and when?

Freshers Week kicks off on Saturday 10th September. Give It A Go events from our Clubs & Socs and Sports teams will start in Freshers Week and run throughout September. The week is sponsored by our friends at Domino's Pizza - make sure you check out their amazing student deals on offer!

We will have a range of on-campus events & activities to welcome you to your Students' Union and University life including our exicting Freshers Week events. We'll be releasing info throughout the summer on plans and tickets so keep an eye on what's happening. Please be aware that all official Freshers Week events are run by the Union.

You'll also get to find out about our incredible Clubs, Socs & Sports teams, our Community Garden, our much-loved catering, bar & Starbucks coffee outlets and so much more.

You'll also get to meet the four Sabbatical Officers who were elected to represent you for a year, Tash, Murray and Jess.

Sun 19th September

UoS MCS Great British Beach Clean GIAG!: 19th September 10:30am - 12:30pm; Kinneil Local Nature Reserve, Bo'ness, EH51 0PS; On Sunday 19th September - from 10:30am - 12:30pm - we'll be supporting the MCS UK 'Great British Beach Clean' campaign with a cleanup at Kinneil Local Nature Reserve in Bo'ness. Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend, just bring a jacket!

Re-Enactment Society Online GIAG: 19th September 7pm - 9:30pm; Microsoft Teams; Come join us at our online GIAG! This is your chance to meet to team if you could not make it along to Freshers! We will be hosting a pub quiz followed by two truths and one lie. Look forward to seeing you all there!

Mon 20th September

SUTES Give it a go: 20th September 6:30am - 8am; Come along to our Give it a Go event, it will be held on MS Teams where we'll be talking about what is SUTES, who the committee are and some quizzes and games. Come along and ask any questions you may have!

Cheerleading Lyrical Give it a Go: 20th September 9:30am - 10:30am; Studio 1; This is the Lyrical Give it a Go, as part of Stirling University's Cheerleading Club.

Pool Society Give it a Go: 20th September 6pm - 11:59pm; Atrium/Stirling train Station/ Players pool hall Falkirk; Meet in the atrium at 5 or Stirling train station at 5:45 before we head through to Falkirk where we will play some games and get to know you all

Tue 21st September

Art Club Give it a Go!: 21st September 6:30am - 8am; 2B87; Join our Give it a go! If you're unsure about the room location, there will be a committee member waiting in the atrium 15 minutes before the meeting starts. Hope we can see you there!!

True Crime @ Virtual Meet Your Clubs & Socs: 21st September noon - 1pm; Teams; Couldn't make it to the in person freshers fair? No worries! Come along and meet us on teams and hear about what we'll be getting up to this year.

Trampoline Give it a Go: 21st September 5:40pm - 8pm; Sports Hall; Join us at our Trampoline Give-It-A-Go! Begginers are not only welcome but encouraged! Remember to bring clothes you're comfortable exercising in as well as water. Any questions please email the club.

Cheerleading Give it a Go: 21st September 6pm - 8pm; Sports Hall; This is the Give it a Go for Stirling University's Cheerleading Club.

LGBTQ+ Picnic Social Give-it-a-go: 21st September 6pm - 8pm; Hill below the Juniper/Beech Court residences; Join us for a social evening on the campus lawn. All welcome!

Stirling Musical Theatre Give It A Go!: 21st September 7pm - 10pm; Venue; Come join us for our in-person Give It A Go! Meet us in Venue at 7PM for a night of singing, acting and dancing and a whole lot of fun! You'll get to meet our committee, make new friends and see what SMT is all about. We can't wait to meet you all!

Give It A Throw!: 21st September 8:30pm - 9:30pm; University of Stirling Sports Centre; A 'Give It A Go' -event open for everyone interested to come and try out what kind of sport judo is!

Wed 22nd September

Cheerleading Pom Give it a Go: 22nd September 9:30am - 10:30am; Studio 2; This is the Pom Give it a Go, as part of Stirling University's Cheerleading Club

Gymnastics Give it a Go: 22nd September 10:40am - 1pm; Sports Hall; Join us at our Gymnastics Give-It-A-Go! Begginers are not only welcome but encouraged! Remember to bring clothes you're comfortable exercising in as well as water. Any questions please email the club.

Re-Enactment Society Combat GIAG: 22nd September noon - 3pm; Lawn by the loch beside Haldanes'; Our combat GIAG will introduce you to medieval fighting and weaponry. It will be lead by our Stirling head Ben! Meet outside Pathfoot at 12pm!

Quidditch Give It A Go: 22nd September 3pm - 5pm; Airthrey Castle; Looking for something to do at uni? Want to try something different? Meet new people? Then quidditch is the sport for you! Suited to all levels of ability, quidditch is a fast paced, mixed gender sport with something for everyone!

Environmental Enterprises - FOOD HUDDLE & QUIZ - Give It A Go: 22nd September 6:30pm - 8pm; Cottrell building; room 2B84; Join us for our GIAG! We will have a quiz and an indoor picnic in our signature Food Huddle style on Wednesday evening. Food will be provided and you can win some cool prizes when you enter the quiz! We're looking forward to meeting you there!

AirTV Give it a Go - Revamped Scene Stealers: 22nd September 7pm - 9:30pm; Cottrell Building Lecture Theatre 2v1; Come along to our GIAG this Wednesday!

GIAG 21/22: 22nd September 7pm - 8pm; Stirling University , Room C.2X4/6; Zeta Kappa Rho will be hosting a socially distance "speed dating" event. New and potential members will be able to meet current members and get to know what ZKP is all about. We will also have a short and sweet presentation for potential members.

History Society Give it a Go: 22nd September 7pm - 8:30pm; C.LTA6; We will be holding our ‘Give It A Go’ (GIAG) event on Wednesday 22nd September at 7pm in C.LTA6. If you are currently living on campus someone will meet you in the Atrium holding a sign for the History Society so as no one gets lost!

Re-Enactment Society Craft GIAG: 24th September 7pm - 9:30pm; Cottrell C.2A9/11; Come along to the re-enactment society's craft GIAG! Try your hand at leather working, chain maile, and more! We will meet up at the atrium but feel free to just pop along to Cottrell if you are joining late! We look forward to seeing you there!

Hedgehog Friendly Campus - Loch Audit GIAG: 27th September 2pm - 4pm; At the bridge in front of the Atrium; Take a walk with us to make sure there are enough exit routes for small mammals to climb out of the loch.

Wed 29th September
