Day Trip to Loch Lomond

Saturday 04 November 2017 10am - 5pm

Join us for a day trip to the beautiful Loch Lomond, which lies in the middle of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park - a delightful landscape of forests, lochs and hills that has long been known as Scotland in miniature.

Tickets for this incredible day trip will be on sale this Wednesday, October 18th from 12pm onwards at a stall in the atrium!
Members of the International Society only pay £11, and non-members pay £12. There are only 40+ seats and tickets are sold 12-1pm for MEMBERS ONLY, and if there are tickets left they will be sold to everyone from 1-2pm.

On Saturday 4th of November, we have hired a bus to take us from Stirling University campus to Balmaha, a beautiful small town on the eastern shores of Loch Lomond. Meeting time is 9.50am outside Macrobert's Art Centre, and the bus will leave there at 10am sharp, please be there in time.
In Balmaha, we will visit the National Park Centre, where you can enjoy an exhibition on Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, learn about geology and explore the Highland Boundary Fault. Afterwards, you have the choice to take a ferry to Inchcailloch island (costs an additional £5; weather permitting) for an hour walk around the island, or you can take a walk along the shores of Loch Lomond.

At 1pm we will take the bus to Balloch, an enchanting village on the south-west shores of Loch Lomond. In Balloch we will have lunch (everyone can choose somewhere they like), and have some time to stroll around the shoreside town with breathtaking views over Loch Lomond. Our trip will finish with a visit to the Loch Lomond Brewery, located just outside of Balloch. Around 4pm we will take the bus back to Stirling University campus, where we should arrive by 5:00pm.
