Raising the profile of a variety of sports is vital to me in order to carry on the success of Stirling’s Sports Union; I will do this by ensuring that all sports have equal coverage, especially minority sports that could really benefit from gaining new members! It is also important to me to make sure that sporting success is promoted, so that the university and community recognise the hard work put in by many of our talented athletes and coaches.
Not only is it important to promote the success of sports teams and individuals, but also to promote opportunities available for voluntary and paid roles such as coaching and officiating. University sport wouldn’t be able to take place without these roles, often voluntary, and I want to give these people the recognition that they deserve and make sure that they get the most out of their experience.
Publicity of the Sports Union is really important to me, to ensure that everyone is involved, from participation to elite levels! From social leagues to BUCS and even international competitions, all student’s views matter, and I am committed to ensuring that all arising matters are dealt with and discussed accordingly. Good communication is key to a positive relationship between members and the Sports Union staff, and I can be the link to that!
