participation
Sport is a huge part of life here at Stirling. From going to the gym through to representing the University in sport competitions, we believe there is something to help everyone get involved.
The University of Stirling Sport offers a range of friendly competitions for staff and students including Just Play Sport and the Intramural (recreational) leagues. To find out more please visit the University's page here.
national competition
Some sports are part of BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport). For team sports this usually means they will compete in the BUCS league on Wednesday afternoons. Others such as Athletics, Cycling and Cheerleading regularly attend nationwide events. You can find more information about BUCS in the tab on the left. Although you don’t necessarily need to be a student to join our clubs, you will need to be a student in order to compete in BUCS competition as this is strictly University Sport.
The Scottish BUCS leagues are administered and organised by SSS (Scottish Student Sport).
If you wish to compete in a sport for which we do not offer a club, you can still enter competitions – all you need to do is contact us at sports.union@stir.ac.uk
