We play in national league and cup competitions and have regular friendlies with local clubs, as well as several multi-uni/multi-union events throughout the year so there’s plenty of opportunity to get involved whether you’re an experienced campaigner or a complete novice.
About the sport:
The original rules for water polo were written in Scotland so where better to learn to play, or to continue your playing experience.
Two teams of 7 play an invasion oriented game based in a swimming pool - the aim of the game is to score goals past a goalkeeper into their opponents net.
Passing, catching, shooting and blocking all take place with one hand. Players can also swim with the ball.
Fast paced and physical - great fun for all ability levels. Great for swimmers looking to break out of swimming lengths and add something fresh to their training.
