Gaelic football is one of the most exciting and fast paced sports the uni has to offer. We welcome everyone regardless of previous experience and we guarantee that once you start playing gaelic you wont want to stop. Even though Gaelic is an Irish sport we have members that are from all parts of the UK and Europe. If anyone has any questions just send an email to: oic00003@students.stir.ac.uk

Training:   Tuesdays 5:30 - 7pm on the 3G

Sundays 11-1pm on the airthrey pitches

Throughout the year we compete in the Scottish university league in which we play against university teams from all over Scotland, this is typically run from September to December. In March the British Championships are held in England. Outside of these friendly matches will be arranged against Glasgow Gaels - a club side from Glasgow who we have quite a good relationship with. Alongside this the Annual St Patricks Day Cup will be contested against Coatbridge in March/April.

The Gaelic football team also offers members with a great social experience. There are regular socials throughout the year, these can range from Christmas and End of year dinners to themed nights. We are sponsored by Dusk nightclub which allows us to hold event nights in Dusk. Last year for example we held a Hippies VS Hipsters night which was quite successful and the Dusk St Patricks Day event which was hugely successful.

Like a traditional Gaelic Club in Ireland, both the Mens and Womens Gaelic Football teams work very closely with each other resulting in regular joint training sessions and socials.
