Are you musically inclined? Looking for an excuse to bring your instrument to university? Keen to get involved in the Stirling music scene?

Look no further, Stirling University Live Music Society (SULMS) is here to provide you with opportunities to get involved in open mics, to collaborate with fellow musicians, and to give you a place to come for equipment, instruments, and information about local music and potential gigs.

No matter what instrument you play or what genres you enjoy, SULMS has a place for you, both metaphorically and physically! Our society has access to Airthrey Cottage located on campus where we keep all our instruments and music equipment - and which you can book out to use as a practice room for yourself or your group/band!

We want to expand the society and make it as inclusive as possible, so we are always open to ideas for future events and how to make the society better in any way. Our aim is that members will look to us as a social group where they can connect with like-minded people with similar interests while also putting their musical talents to good use.

We have our weekly meetings every Wednesday at 7pm in the Airthrey Cottage*
Each week has a new theme, and will challenge your knowledge about music as well as your abilities. This is also an opportunity to jam with other members for anyone who wishes to participate. The meetings are for everyone, regardless of your skill level!
We also run the open mic every Wednesday at 9pm in the Stirling Student Union*
Come along to play a few tunes, or to simply hang out with other members. The more the merrier! Any instruments and musical styles are welcome at the open mic, and you don't need any previous experience with playing live. The Union open mic is supposed to be a casual and relaxed environment for everyone, whether you wish to play or not.

(*There might be some changes to days and times of meetings come the new semester)

Here's a wee video showcasing some of our key aspects: https://youtu.be/kQ5wnGDOISM

If you are a paid member already, request to join our SULMS members group:
This will allow you to keep informed on everything society related, and let you use our on-campus practice rooms.
