My student days in Stirling were in the 80s before heading into film and TV production, firstly in the independent sector and then as head of drama at BBC in Scotland producing films and series, serial and single films for television including Ratcatcher, Monarch of the Glen and River City. I’m now an arts and creative industries consultant. Before University I was Regional Officer for NUS Scotland and keep in touch with the student union world through friends around the globe who continue that work. Whilst student life has changed since my day the reasons why student representation is crucial haven’t and I hope as many students as possible become involved in the union. As trustees we are here to help - but it’s your union.
Mary is the Director at Breast Cancer Now and Director at CEiS.
