The University of Stirling Students’ Union is constituted by the University of Stirling’s Royal Charter (14th December 1967) and is a registered charity in accordance with the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005. As such the organisation is governed by a number of key documents in order to ensure effective delivery of its core purpose, which are provided below.

In the Union Democratic Policy Explainer document you can find infromation about the democratic processes at Stirling Students' Union, from how what the different Zones are, what they do, what some of our key policies are, to how to influence and imput policy yourself about issues which matter to you!

Process for Submitting a Motion:

All students can submit a motion to a Union General Meeting or Zone Meeting. If the meeting is quorate, and if the motion passes, the motion becomes Union Policy.  If you wish to submit a motion, please ensure you use this template - Motion Template. Motions and amendments must be submitted to the Democracy and Representation Coordinator. If you have any questions or need help putting the motion together, please email the Union at theunion@stir.ac.uk.
