Take part in the Teach-in.

UCU are taking action against the changes to their pension scheme and on March 17th strikes are happening across Scotland with very little education taking place. Elsewhere in Scotland students are missing out on their lectures, their seminars and their core contact hours, whereas in Stirling we have joint action of staff and students that allows learning, teaching and education to go ahead but disrupts the room bookings, day to day running and business interests of the University. We hope to send a clear message that the purpose of a University is to deliver and develop education, learning and teaching and research that will have a large media impact because of the uniqueness and potential impact of a joint protest that doesn't harm our education. The teaching will still take place and no student should experience a negative impact on their education, but a clear message of protest against the USS pension changes can still be sent out. If you're class is being moved then your lecturer will let you know but if you want to pop into the Union to experience a lecture you wouldn't otherwise get to see then come on down to Glow between 9 and 6 on March 17th (not forgetting to visit the Union election hustings in the Atrium first) and join in the fun. We'll be holding lectures in everything from English to Aquaculture so come over and see what happens in those subjects.

Teach-in Timetable
Aquaculture 10am-11am, Glow Students' Union
English 912 Texts in Context 12pm-1pm, Glow Students' Union
English 9W1 Writing and Identity 1pm-2pm, Glow Students' Union

March with us on 22nd March

If you want to join us on the march in Edinburgh on the 22nd get a ticket for the bus on Monday 21st in the Atrium (and you can vote in the Union elections at the same time) from 10am. Tickets are £1 and that gets you from campus to Edinburgh and back to march with students from across Scotland to make MSP and list candidates take education seriously and get the student vote out.
Make sure you're registered to vote (if you live on campus you're automatically registered) by April 15th.

Come to the Stirling march and rally on April 26th with University of Stirling and Forth Valley College staff and students.

Vote on May 5th.
