Heather

Hi, I’m Heather Robertson, a 3rd Year Politics student, and I’m asking you to vote me in as your VP (Welfare & Education). My running mates are Gary Hall (for President) and Robert Hudd (for VP (Services & Treasurer)), and we believe we are dedicated and imaginative people capable of making University life better for you. If you have any questions for us then feel free to send me a message through SUSAOnline or ask us at the Sabbatical hustings.

Looking into longer opening hours for the library.
Making University and SUSA websites more accessible by ascertaining that they are user friendly to every student and staff member that needs them.
Ensuring good dialogue between students and their academic departments.
Working with the university to guarantee the highest possible levels of student support.
Showing students that they can make a difference to their departments by publishing the results of module evaluations and the changes made as a result of them.

BETTER CAMPUS LIFE
Aiming to provide a residences bus for after Glow.
Raising the profile of on campus counselling services so you know where to get the help you need if you need it.
Working with Residential Services to ensure students get the best deal on accommodation.
Making sure those who need a parking space on campus can get one.
Campaigning for the provision of childcare facilities on campus for the children of students.

BETTER CAMPAIGNS

Raising awareness of drink spiking and working to make the association premises a no go zone for drink spikers.
Campaigning for more new computer labs.
Furthering the progress of SUSA’s liberation campaigns.

BETTER CO-ORDINATION OF LIBERATION CAMPAIGNS
Obtaining an action plan from each council member with a special responsibility at the start of the academic year in order to ensure campaigns are making their intended progress.
Utilising the new liberation position of Black Student’s officer to its maximum potential.
Providing support for all campaigns run by liberation officers.
Synchronising the work of all liberation campaigns through the work of SUSA’s welfare committee.
Upholding SUSA’s equal opportunities policy.
