Rheanna Whitham

Hi, my name is Rheanne Whitham and I’m asking you to elect me as Health Promotions Officer. I’m a second year Animal Biology student who wants to contribute more effectively to our Student Union.  I take an active role as a Course Rep and I am currently the Vice-president for the Women’s Group, where I help campaign for current issues such as ‘Stop Gender Violence’ and ‘Health and Well-being’.

Being a new position, I see Health Promotions Officer as a new opportunity to re-assess want you really want from your support services. Please voice your opinion – “what do you want to see ?”.

If elected, in the next year I plan to ensure that you as a student never have to deal with things alone … by

§          Creating a one-stop, all-access portal to information and advice concerning everything from coping with stress, sexual health, drugs and alcohol awareness and mental health.

§          Facilitating interactions with liberation groups for specific health related campaigns.

§          Working with the Sports Union and its president to assist you in anything from getting fit or improving your sport.

§          Begin to work with outside groups, such as Forth Valley Health and ActiveStirling, to provide you with support and extra opportunities to improve on your health.

§          Raise awareness of what social and behavioural aspects affect your health and help you develop personal and emotional skills to help improve your general well being.

Your vote can make all the difference; so vote Rheanne for Health Promotions Officer on Monday 22nd March, online or in the atrium.
